Data We Collect
Listing data. When you view an Adverts.ie listing, the extension reads the page content (title, price, description, seller info, condition, and shipping details) and sends it to our server to perform the price analysis.
Account data. If you create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed password.
Device fingerprint. A random anonymous identifier is generated and stored locally to track extension installs and uninstalls for analytics purposes.
How We Use Your Data
Listing data is sent to our server and processed by our analysis engine (which uses OpenAI's API) to compare the asking price against market data. The analysis result is cached temporarily to improve performance. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Payments
If you choose to upgrade to a paid plan, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not see or store your payment card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment transactions.
Third Parties
We use the following third-party services:
- OpenAI — to analyse listing prices and generate deal scores. Listing data is sent to OpenAI for processing.
- Stripe — to process payments for paid subscriptions.
We do not use advertising networks, trackers, or social media pixels.
Data Security
All communication between the extension and our server is encrypted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
Data Retention
Analysis results are cached for up to 7 days. Account data is retained until you request deletion. You can contact us to have your account and associated data removed.
Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page.
